Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, will attend a public meeting on the proposed expansion of Luton Airport at Rothamsted Conference Centre on Wednesday 30th October at 7pm. Local residents will have the opportunity to express their views and discuss the implications of over- expansion for the surrounding areas.
Peter Lilley said:
“This will be an important opportunity for people to respond to the Government?s flawed proposals to over-expand Luton Airport. Following a presentation by Hertfordshire County Council?s Environment Director, Charlie Watson, there will be an opportunity for the public to discuss the implications for the local community.
“Together with County Councillors Bernard Lloyd and Iris Tarry, I shall challenge the Government?s decision to assume that Luton will have a new long runway, whereas proposals for new runways elsewhere are presented merely as an option.
“I shall also invite people to sign the ?Stop Luton Airport Expansion? petition in Harpenden on Saturday 26th October between 9.30 am and 4.00 pm.?
