Over 50 young people from Hitchin and Harpenden joined Peter Lilley in Parliament at his annual meeting for first time voters.
Peter Lilley said: “The response to my invitation is proof that not all young people are apathetic about politics. We had a lively discussion about a whole range of issues; the chance to see the crucial debate on hunting; and I was able to give them an insight into the r?le of an MP.”
Alex Williams, age 16, from Hitchin said: “I thought it was fascinating – I really enjoyed it. I was initially sceptical that the meeting would be full of propaganda, but it wasn‘t at all. I thought what Peter Lilley said was both interesting and illuminating.”
