Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, is to meet North Herts? Development Manager to discuss the forthcoming Public Inquiry into the plan to build up to 10,000 home to the west of the A1(M) at Stevenage which opens in January 2004.
Peter Lilley said: “I shall be attending the opening day of the Public Inquiry on the 20th January to let the Planning Inspector know that I would like to give evidence to the Inquiry, which is expected to last until the end of May. The Inquiry will provide the opportunity for all those concerned to put their views to the Inspector.
“The planning issues surrounding the proposed development are complex – particularly those relating to this huge incursion into the Green Belt – and I shall be meeting John Ironside, North Herts Development Manager with responsibility for this development, so that I can be fully briefed before the Public Inquiry opens.”
