Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, has joined with other Hertfordshire MPs in seeking an urgent meeting with the Health Minister to discuss the deterioration in the financial position of the Beds and Herts Strategic Health Authority.
Peter Lilley said: “I am very concerned about the apparent deterioration in the financial position of our local NHS and the threat of cuts in local services which may be imposed to balance the budget.
“It is clear that the government held back on revealing the seriousness of the situation until after the general election. It is extraordinary that we should be in this plight despite the huge amount of extra money which the government claims to have pumped into the health service. The taxpayers? money is clearly not all reaching the services which patients in this area desperately need
