Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, is to speak at the University of Hertfordshire graduation ceremony on Friday, 24th November when he will also receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws.
Peter said, “I am honoured that Hertfordshire University has awarded me this honorary degree. However, the real stars of the ceremony will be the students who will be receiving real degrees as a result of their hard work.
“Hertfordshire University has been at the forefront of providing high quality degree courses in vocational subjects. I have long believed that British higher education needed to put more emphasis on learning which, while of the highest academic standard, is orientated towards practical and vocational use. So I am delighted that it should be Hertfordshire University, which serves my constituency, that is leading the way in doing exactly this.”
