Rt Hon Lord Lilley

Peter Lilley will once again host the annual Hitchin and Harpenden Schools’ Debating Competition, but this March will welcome students to the Houses of Parliament, where they will debate in one of the Committee Rooms in the Palace of Westminster.

Peter said, “I am very pleased to be able to host the competition in Parliament. The quality of the debates has been extremely high the last two years, and I am pleased that the students will this year be able to debate in the unique and historic atmosphere of the Palace of Westminster.”

“We will once again have a balanced panel of judges, consisting of a councillor representing each of the three main political parties and a non-political chair. I am looking forward to seeing the quality of this year’s debates.”
