Following continued problems with postal deliveries in the Hitchin area, Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin & Harpenden, has written to the Chief Executive of the Post Office to demand a meeting with the senior Executive responsible for this area. As a result a meeting has been arranged for Friday, the 8th December, at Parliament between Peter Lilley and Mr Garry Dulieu, the Area Operations Manager for the Royal Mail.
Peter Lilley said: “I have made repeated complaints about the recurring failures in local deliveries which are damaging businesses in my constituency. Each time I have been given reassurances by local officials which have proved worthless. So I have now insisted on seeing the senior manager covering this region. Through the intervention of the Chief Executive, I have now set up a meeting. I will make it clear to Mr Dulieu that it is imperative that the staffing problems at Hitchin are sorted out as soon as possible?.
