Rt Hon Lord Lilley

Peter Lilley showed his support for “Small Business Saturday” with a visit to Modina LLP, a payroll and bookkeeping company in Hitchin that is celebrating its second anniversary with a 114% increase in turnover.

Modina, run by Sharon Mordecai, has grown from a handful of clients to almost 400 in just two years creating four jobs in the process.

“As a business which launched on the back of a global recession, Modina’s significant achievements not only demonstrate boldness but also entrepreneurial flair. I congratulate this company, they are a shining example of commercial success,”said Peter.

“Small Business Saturday is about celebrating the achievements of all our local small businesses and encouraging everyone to continue to support them throughout the year. The UK saw a record number of small businesses start this year and I hope that we will continue to see this increase in enterprise that is revitalising our high streets and encouraging people to look locally for everyday goods and services.”
