Peter Lilley will be joining people from across the constituency for a kick-about on Friday 11th October at 12pm as part of the “Just Play – Free For One Week” campaign, which aims to get more people out on the pitch playing our nation’s favourite sport.
“I am very much looking forward to dusting off my boots – if I can find them – and getting onto the pitch to help support this campaign and I encourage anyone who is interested to take half an hour out their day to come along and join in,” said Peter.
“So many of us spend all day at our desks and find it difficult to make the time to exercise. Initiatives like “Just Play”, which offer people the opportunity to combine kick-starting a more active lifestyle with enjoying team sport, are so important. I look forward to meeting the players and staff who will make the “Just Play” programme a success.”
The free “Just Play” session will be held on Friday 11th October at 12pm at Hitchin Sports Centre, North Hertfordshire College, Cambridge Road, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG4 0JD.

The “Just Play” initiative aims to tackle the decline in adult participation in football by getting 150,000 new adult participants playing the game for at least 30 minutes a week. This autumn the FA and Mars will be offering free Just Play training sessions at 180 centres across the country.
