Rt Hon Lord Lilley

Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, joined supporters of the Jumbulance Trust on Church Green, Harpenden, when they took delivery of a new vehicle costing more than £350,000.

He said: “I was very pleased to support the fantastic work of the Trust, which provides travel for disabled, elderly and seriously ill people.

“A Jumbulance is part coach and part ambulance and has on board the space and the facilities to enable people who would otherwise be home-, hospital- or hospice-bound to get out and about for visits or holidays.

“These wonderful vehicles are not cheap and the delivery of this one coincides with the start of an appeal to raise funds for another – donations to www.newbusappeal.org.uk.

“There are very many people in the district who will benefit from this new bus, and from the efforts of the volunteers who help to run it. Our very real thanks go to them for their time, energy and devotion.”
