Lilley shows Luton Airport Expansion

- Thursday, 23rd October 2003

Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, has obtained information from Ministers which proves that Luton Airport gets a higher proportion of its revenues from car parking than any of the other airports around London.

"It is clear that Luton Airport is financially dependent on people coming by car," Peter Lilley said. "It is also the only major airport without direct rail access into the airport. So if the airport was allowed to expand as the government originally proposed, the bulk of the 25 million extra passengers would clog up Hertfordshire‘s already over-crowded roads," he added.
