Hitchin & Harpenden MP Celebrates with Local Architects

- Tuesday, 28th March 2000

Peter Lilley, Member of Parliament for Hitchin & Harpenden, joined Scurr & Partners to help celebrate the Hertfordshire based architectural company?s 15th anniversary.

At a Luncheon hosted by David and Jeryl Scurr, Peter Lilley set out the Conservative?s Common Sense approach to small businesses.

Speaking to local businessmen Mr Lilley said "Small businesses form the backbone of Britain?s economy and nothing would help them to grow faster than removing the hundreds of petty rules and regulations which are strangling the creative talents of the entrepreneurs that run them.?

"Because it is businesses and not Governments which create jobs, the Conservative Party believes in setting small enterprises free. Our Common Sense proposals will get the Government off the back of small businesses and allow them to flourish.?
