Lilley to challenge ministers on benefits for disabled following visit to Daylight Club

Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, last Friday visited the Daylight Club ? for people with physical disabilities - in Harpenden. He discussed a range of issues with club members and promised to ask ministers why the heating allowance for pensioners is not available to disabled people.

Peter Lilley said:

"We had a lively discussion over lunch about the expansion plans for Luton Airport, reorganisation of the Health Service and issues facing disabled people today. In particular, concerns were raised about the availability of help and benefits for disabled people.

"I promised to take up with Ministers the issue of why the ?200 heating allowance for pensioners is not available to disabled people.?
