MP Goes Back to School

Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden, marked ?MPs Back to School Day? on Friday, the 23rd April by visiting Cockernhoe Primary School in Cockernhoe Green and St Dominic?s Primary School in Harpenden.

After being shown around Cockernhoe School by young pupils and meeting staff, Peter Lilley joined the children in their play hour. He was given a ?go? on one of the school?s whizzers in the playground.

Peter Lilley said: "I was impressed by the maturity of the young people who showed me around the school who are obviously very proud of it.?

At St Dominic?s, Peter Lilley visited each class in turn where the children asked questions about the r?le of an MP and the older pupils asked how children in less developed countries could be given access to universal education.

Peter Lilley said: "I was impressed by how thoughtful the questions the children posed were.?
