LILLEY SUPPORTS SAFETY DRIVE OF REDBOURN WARD CONSTABLE

- Tuesday, 8th June 2004

Peter Lilley, MP for Hitchin & Harpenden, has written to Hertfordshire?s Highways Department in support of Police Constable Thorpe, the Redbourn Ward Constable, in his efforts to improve highway safety in the village.

Peter Lilley said: "PC Thorpe is trying hard to improve road safety in Redbourn. In particular, he has put forward constructive proposals to bring in a more sensible speed limit on Hemel Hempsted Road near East Common where it passes a new children?s nursery and an old people?s home. PC Thorpe?s action shows the value of community policing ? of which I am a strong supporter.

I have written to the County Council endorsing what PC Thorpe is trying to do and I hope that this will help achieve success in making the roads safer in the village.?
