Lilley Campaigns for Radiotherapy Facility at Lister Hospital

Medical Specialist taking notes

Peter Lilley has launched a petition, in parallel with similar petitions by Stephen McPartland MP and Sir Oliver Heald MP, calling for NHS England to provide a radiotherapy facility at Lister Hospital in Stevenage. The aim is to relieve constituents needing radiotherapy from having to make the lengthy journey to Mount Vernon.

"Residents of Hitchin, Harpenden, Redbourn, Wheathampstead and the surrounding villages currently have to travel to Mount Vernon Hospital in Hillingdon to receive radiotherapy treatment," said Peter. "This journey is long and exacting and often has to be made on consecutive days. A satellite facility at Lister Hospital in Stevenage would make the journey for radiotherapy treatment much easier for many patients who live in the Hitchin and Harpenden Constituency.

"The petition can be found on my website and in my constituency office. I urge all my constituents to sign it so that we can add as much weight to this campaign as possible and help improve vital health services for Hitchin and Harpenden."
