Peter supporting Carers

Peter Lilley showed his support for the great work of Crossroads Care last week, joining carers from across the North Hertfordshire area for the Carers Week 'Time out for Carers' event at North Herts College.

Peter joined many carers and their families to cut a cake made especially by catering students from North Herts College in recognition of the extraordinary work of these volunteers. Carers were also treated to pampering sessions given by beauty therapy students.

"Normally we get a litany of gloom form the media but today we are celebrating the best in human nature - the self sacrifice of thosw ho care for loved ones," Peter Lilley told a gathering of carers and volunteers at North Herts College last week. I applaud the work that Crossroads Care does to improve the lives of those living with the challenges of caring for a family member or friend in need. These unsung heroes make an enormous contribution to our community and deserve to be recognised and appreciated."

"Crossroads Care is fulfilling a vital role in our local area, providing the support, respite and companionship carers need to continue to live their own lives, while looking after their loved ones. Our thanks also go to all those at North Herts College who have worked hard to give them this well earned break today as part of Carers Week."
