MP PARTICIPATES IN 'GRAND OPENING' OF PIRTON PRE-SCHOOL

- Wednesday, 18th May 2011

After five years of trying to secure funding to build a new provision for the pre-school, the new building has now been completed.

Peter Lilley said: “I am so glad that this provision for the pre-school is now complete thanks to the hard work of the school’s trustees and members of staff. It was a pleasure to meet staff, children and members of the community and to help with the planting of a commemorative tree.”

Carol-Anne McConnellogue, Chair of trustees at Pirton Pre-School, said: “I am delighted that the ‘Grand Opening’ of our wonderful new building that is operating as Pirton Pre-School was such a success and I am very grateful for Peter Lilley’s support.”

“There were concerns that we would not obtain sufficient funding, however thanks to the Children, Schools and Families ‘Sure Start’ Department and fundraising efforts, the building is now complete. It is the most significant development in the village for a number of years and we also raised £600 on Saturday which was fantastic”.
